Not in My Back Yard. But what about out of your wallet?

A friend of mine just introduced me to Not in My Back Yard ( NIMBY)- a maker space in Oakland California. They are running an indiegogo crowd funding campaign for the 2nd time (the first time was not funded) and are running up against their funding deadline ( again) not sure if they will reach their goal.

If you are interested in learning more about the different kinds of maker spaces out there, like I am, their video does a decent job of showing you around NIMBY.   But what I want to know is with all the great work they are doing, why do you think they are not struggling to raise 20k? Seems to me they should be able to raise 100k or more. So what is it? Their marketing? Their lack of salesmanship? Lack of social media connections? What??

If you think NIMBY deserves to reach their goals send them a few bucks here.

And if your not sure, read student film maker Stephen Dunn’s blog post “How to Fund a Successful IndieGogo/Kickstarter Campaign in 5 Easy Steps.”
