Chicago Social Entrepreneur, Bucketfeet, Lifts Off to Scale

According to Crain’s Chicago Business, Bucketfeet started as a beer-money business in college.

Now Aaron Firestein is teaming up with Raaja Nemani — a former banker he met by chance in Argentina — to build a global brand with a mission.

BucketfeetBucketfeet is a rising Chicago social footwear brand, closer akin to Threadless then Tom’s Shoes.

Featuring the work of street artists, Bucketfeet has created footwear that serve as a wearable piece of art. Each pair of shoes cost $65 and features a different artist’s design and tells his or her story. The artists are paid for their design and receive a $1 royalty for each pair sold.
